Croatian Folklore – The tradition lives on… - MELBOURNE - Sunday 30 January, Mladez HDZ Melbourne staged the first ever Croatian Folklore Festival at Footscray Park. Over a decade ago, Footscray Park was a place of gathering where several Croatian community events had taken place. For some reason this had ceased. Visitors that attended the first ever Folklore Festival at Footscray Park were a little uncertain as to what they were to expect, as it had been so long since an event of this nature was held at the same place. With a reported figure of 800 people in attendance, the festival not only re-ignited the local Croatian spirit but brought back many memories continued...

YEPP SUPPORTS CROATIA ON ROAD TO EUROPEAN UNION - Mladez HDZ's representatives at the national Seminar titled "Social Europe - more freedoms, more opporunities" were Patricio Petric and Darija Jurica. At the seminar there were a number of guest speakers, of which was the distinguished Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Norway Mr. Kjell Magne Bondevik who spoke about the Christian values in todays political life. Above all, the most important news to come out of the Seminar for Mladez HDZ was the acceptance of the Resolution titled "Resolution on the Croatian and Bulgarian accession to the European Union" which was jointly propsed by MSDS from Bulgaria and Mladez HDZ. The Resolution outlines full support of the Croatian Government's endeavours to become full-time members of the EU and outlines the belief that Croatia will become a member of the EU by 2007.
